El Paraiso Farm (“The Paradise”) is located at an altitude of 1,650 meters and was established in 1960, originally cultivating several coffee varieties including Typica, Caturra, and Catimor. Following severe outbreaks of coffee rust and blackeye disease, the farm began searching for more resilient varieties. In 2013, while exploring coffee fields in Junín, a Geisha variety was discovered that had naturally mutated into new genotypes with increased resistance to these diseases. Today, the farm spans 13 hectares dedicated to this coffee variety, grown under the shade of native trees. This environment contributes to the exceptional quality of the coffees produced through a range of processing methods, including washed, honey, natural, and anaerobic processes.
